“I am someone’s daughter, too”: AOC blasts Republican she says called her a “b***h” on Capitol Hill

U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Thursday repeated on the floor of the House of Representatives the profane insult that Republican colleague Ted Yoho allegedly said to her on the Capitol steps, adding that it was not just an insult to her but to all women.

"Mr. Yoho mentioned that he has a wife and two daughters. I am someone’s daughter, too." Ocasio-Cortez said with emotion. "My father, thankfully, is not alive to see how Mr. Yoho treated his daughter."

Ocasio-Cortez’s comments were the latest in an escalating feud that started on Monday, when "The Hill" newspaper said that one of its reporters allegedly heard him referring to Ocasio-Cortez as a "f***** b***h."

"This is not new and that is the problem," Ocasio-Cortez said. "It is a culture of lack of impunity; of accepting of violence and violent language against women; and an entire structure of power that supports that."
